This morning we were at Freedom Park. I think every student was stunned by what they saw. It is shocking to each student when they see how people live in the community. There is no stuctures other than little tin houses about 10 feet by 8 feet. Most of these little homes have anywhere from 4 to 6 people living within it's walls. We will be working in freedom park everyday between now and Saturday. The students had a great time loving the children and talking with the adults and teens. We are now working at the lighthouse childrens shelter and at the school where we are staying. We are weeding, cleaning, painting, and digging a foundation for a future house.
One of the students today said they couldn't believe how happy the children were even in there circumstances. One of our young ladies with tears running down her cheeks talked about how she couldn't believe even the simplest of needs were not taken care of. We sat in silence for about 5 minutes after talking about our first experience in Freedom Park. (Quite a name for a place filled with such captivity.)
All of the students are doing great physically except Andrew Allen, he is still having trouble with his stomach and sleeping alot, he says he's feeling better. Please pray for him.
I'll add more pictures tomorrow. We will be in a minimum security prison tomorrow morning then back to Freedom Park to begin the ministry.
Hi Kiah and Tate daddy misses you, Love you Gretch.
Everyone say's hi again! We'll talk soon.
